Rice air fresheners are a great natural and non-toxic way to perfume a room or your closet. I have prepared my own rice air freshener at home, and the results have been really amazing!
Simply mix rice with your chosen scents, and then add a few drops of an essential oil of your choice. It’s that simple!
The rice will absorb the scent of the flowers, herbs, and the essential oils will give the mix the right “kick” to make it last longer.
I have tested the recipe using the following simple ingredients: chamomile, peppermint and cardamom

Chamomile Peppermint and Cardamom Non-Toxic Natural Air FreshenerPrint This
1 cup of rice: basmati or jasmine rice preferred
10 drops of peppermint essential oil (I use NOW Peppermint Essential Oil it’s 100% pure and it smells amazing)
10 green cardamom pods
1 small bunch of dried peppermint leaves
3 or 4 dried chamomile flowers
1 mixing bowl
1 0,75 l hermet0,75 hermetic jars: I used Le Parfait French Terrines Wide Mouth Glass Canning Jar
Creating your own natural and non-toxic air freshener is super easy and inexpensive.
Just gather the ingredients and follow the steps:
Step 1: Use a chopstick to mix and stir the rice with the dried mint leaves and dried chamomile flowers in a mixing bowl
Step 2: Add the essential oils and keep stirring using your chopstick
Step 3: Throw the mix in your chosen mason or hermetic jar
Step 4: Add fresh chamomile flowers to finish up!
Remember to keep the air freshener away from small children and pets, such as on a tall bookshelf.
